Archived Policy
1. Archiving and Preservation:
- Long-Term Digital Archiving: All articles published in Scientific Research Reports (SRR) are archived in secure, long-term digital repositories to ensure their preservation and continued availability. We make every effort to ensure that published content remains accessible, even if there are changes to the journal’s platform.
- Digital Object Identifiers (DOI): Every article published in SRR will receive a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to ensure persistent access, citation, and linking.
2. Open-Access Archiving:
- Public Access: SRR adheres to an open-access policy, ensuring that all archived articles are freely available to the public. Our platform provides unrestricted access to content, ensuring that research reaches a global audience.
- Institutional and Subject Repositories: We encourage authors to deposit their articles in institutional repositories and subject-specific archives, following the journal’s open-access policies, to maximize visibility and accessibility.
3. Archiving in Trusted Repositories:
- Collaboration with Archiving Services: SRR partners with trusted digital archiving services like Portico, CLOCKSS, and LOCKSS to ensure that published content remains accessible, even in the event of unforeseen disruptions to the journal’s operations.
- Compliance with Archiving Standards: Articles are archived in compliance with global digital preservation standards, including those recommended by the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
4. Accessibility and Retrieval:
- Easy Access to Archived Content: All articles are archived and accessible via SRR’s website, ensuring that past publications remain easily retrievable. In addition, content will be indexed by major academic search engines and databases (e.g., Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, etc.).
- Preservation of Metadata: Along with the full text of each article, metadata (e.g., title, authors, keywords, abstract) will be preserved to maintain searchability and indexing.
5. Data Retention and Deletion:
- Retention of Data: SRR retains manuscript data, including peer review records, for as long as necessary to comply with academic and legal obligations. In general, data will be kept for a period of 5 to 10 years following publication.
- Data Deletion: If authors request the deletion of their data or publication due to ethical or legal concerns, the journal will evaluate the request and, if necessary, initiate removal in accordance with archival guidelines and legal requirements. However, some types of data may remain accessible for legal or regulatory compliance purposes.
6. Updates and Revisions:
- Article Revisions: If an article is revised after publication (e.g., corrections or updates), the revised version will be archived, and the DOI will point to the most recent version. Previous versions will remain accessible for transparency, along with detailed revision history.
- Corrections and Retractions: If necessary, SRR will issue corrections, clarifications, or retractions for articles in cases of errors, ethical violations, or misconduct. These changes will be made publicly available in the archived content and marked clearly for readers.
7. Archived Data Security:
- Data Protection: SRR employs secure data storage methods to protect archived content from loss, corruption, or unauthorized access. Data is regularly backed up, and security measures are in place to comply with international privacy and data protection standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Disaster Recovery: SRR has a disaster recovery plan to ensure continuity in case of unexpected technical failures, guaranteeing the preservation and accessibility of archived content.
8. Access to Archived Content:
- Permanent Public Access: SRR guarantees that all published content, including articles in the archives, will remain publicly accessible without restrictions on reading, downloading, or printing.
- No Paywall for Archived Content: As an open-access journal, SRR does not impose paywalls or access barriers on any archived content, allowing users free access to all past articles.
9. Archiving Fees:
- No Archiving Fees for Authors: Authors are not required to pay additional fees for archiving their articles in SRR’s repositories. The open-access policy ensures that both authors and readers benefit from free access to archived content.
- Additional Costs: In case of integration with external services or if special archiving requests are made, the journal may inform authors about any associated costs, though these fees will be minimal and transparent.
